DAMPIER MARINE SEARCH FOR A MAN MISSING AT SEA

Authorities are searching for a man in the water off the coast of Dampier after he was involved in a boat accident over the weekend. 

The victim was boating with another man on Saturday night when authorities said they believe the vessel hit a mooring and upturned. 

One man managed to swim ashore and was rescued, but DPIRD fishing vessels and helicopters are still searching for his companion. 

Authorities said both men were in their 20s and not wearing life jackets at the time of the incident.
